  1. Well done, thanks to Tom and Eric. If you don't mind a correction, the pen name (M.E. Chaber) is pronounced Chay-ber, more like "chamber" than "chopper." The pronunciation is not obvious, since it's a made-up name. I thought I heard Tom accidentally say "March" instead of "Crossen" at one point, which I got a kick out of, since Ken Crossen most identified with March out of all his characters (he could hardly identify with a monk, the Green Lama). It's satisfying to see the series revived, with one new novel and a collection of stories. The books I suggested are just my own favorites, as I enjoy the suspense and spy novels more than the "bust up the Syndicate" plots. But they are all just, as you say, fun reading.
