As a big fan of Matt Helm, ...Appreciate the review. As a big fan of Matt Helm, I'm open to reading books with ruthless killers as protagonists, but this particular piece is way over the line. The Dirty Dozen was one example of criminals as heroes, which worked because some had redeeming qualities. This review suggests nothing of the sort in anyone, so I don't blame you for being bored. Also, if the battle scenes are from Kane's perspective, a team leader with no conception of how many members he has is a major character flaw, like a carpenter not knowing what tools he's brought to a site.
